Sunday (Feb 2, 2025) saw another well-attended AGM for the Mid-Lancashire area.
Our 2023-2024 AGM and Members' Day event was held Lancaster Way Community Centre, Buckshaw Village, Chorley. This is a brief summary of the day. Minutes to follow as available.
The morning’s leisurely walk around the Buckshaw Village area was made all the more pleasant by the mild sunny weather. It was enjoyed by 27 walkers, with representatives from each of the area’s groups.
The afternoon’s meeting began with a brief summary of the Ramblers national strategy. This was followed by a review of the Footpath, Lost Ways and Coastal Access reports produced by Footpath Secretary David Kelly. Copies of this report can be found on the website (HERE).
Membership across the group shows a slight increase and the walks programme is being maintained at a reasonably healthy level despite an area-wide shortage of walk leaders.
The treasurer’s report shows a reduced but still healthy balance.
The group reports showed that walking attendance and activity remains at a healthy level; although as stated there remains a need for additional walk leaders.
